Five Star Delivery Founder and President, Curt Peterson has been working within the furniture industry for over 20 years. He began his career in the industry as a delivery helper in 1992 for a well known high end furniture retailer. Since that point he has worked in all departments regarding delivery from being part of delivery teams to warehouse management and hands on working with customer service departments and dispatch.
In 1997, he branched out to begin his own White Glove Moving and Delivery Service working with furniture retailers and interior designers throughout the U.S.
The term "White Glove" is used so frequent anymore it has lost some of its meaning. So many Last Mile carriers advertise "White Glove" service but very few even know what it means any longer to provide that type of service. At Five Star Delivery, all of our delivery teams carry and use white gloves on delivery, therefore truely providing customers with the advertised service.
Another key factor that we offer is unlike most 3PL's, Five Star Delivery does not use owner operators or sub contractors. We are currently a 100% employee based company. Most larger 3rd party logistic companies present a great service to retailers only to contract out their deliveries to owner operators with most having little or no knowledge of home delivery but rather having access to a delivery vehicle and a helper. At Five Star Delivery, our name and reputation for conducting White Glove deliveries still carries meaning. All employees, whether they have 0 or 10 years experience go through an extensive training process by lead team members. Only using employees versus owner operators allows us to maintain our image and services that we have presented to retailers as well is what sets us apart from most Last Mile carriers.
